Which is better, Biofinity or Biofinity XR?
Biofinity XR contact lenses are considered better than Biofinity if you have a more extreme prescription as they provide an extended range of prescriptions with a range of -20.00 to 15.00.
Both Biofinity and Biofinity XR feature Aquaform Technology for healthy and hydrated eyes, making them an ideal choice for those who spend a lot of time in front of a digital screen or in an air-conditioned environment. Aquaform Technology makes these lenses naturally hydrophilic so that they retain water and minimise dehydration. Their aspheric front design provides a precise and sharp focus for high level of visual correction. Both Biofinity and Biofinity XR can be worn as extended wear contact lenses and slept in overnight for up to 29 nights, if approved by your optician.
Biofinity is may have a higher oxygen permeability; however, Biofinity XR is better in the sense that it is designed for extreme prescriptions so that myopic and hyperopic patients can experience the comfort and clarity of Biofinity. It has a lower DK/t due to being a thicker lens; however, it is still an excellent choice. For this reason, it is more expensive than Biofinity.
