Description
What is comfilcon A?
Comfilcon A is a highly breathable silicone hydrogel material used in contact lenses that ensures your eyes stay moist all day long. Silicone hydrogel allows more oxygen to pass through the lens compared to standard hydrogel lenses.
Comfilcon A, a ‘hydrophilic’ or ‘water-loving’ lens material, provides moisture to the lens by absorbing water. With a water content of 48%, lenses made with comfilcon A will lock in the moisture and keep your eyes feeling hydrated. This makes the lens soft and flexible for comfort and wearing convenience.
Additionally, with a high level of oxygen permeability (128 Dk/t), this material allows oxygen to flow through to your eyes, making the lens comfortable for the wearer.
Comfilcon A lenses offer:
- Breathability – due to silicone hydrogel material
- 48% water content
- 128 Dk/t oxygen permeability
- Relief from dry eyes
People with dry eyes or those with excessive screen time can benefit from this material as the balance of water content and oxygen permeability will help relieve symptoms of dryness.

Please note, extended wear lenses should always be approved by your optician.
