What are Acuvue Oasys contact lenses?
Acuvue Oasys contact lenses are two weekly contacts, and part of the popular Acuvue range. This brand of two weekly lenses can cater for a wide range of visual requirements. If you're short sighted, long sighted, suffer from presbyopia or astigmatism, there are lenses in this range to treat those conditions.
Some key features of these contact lenses are their ability to retain moisture, as well as their affordability compared to daily disposables.
What material is acuvue oasys
Made with a silicone hydrogel material, the lenses allow more oxygen to pass through them than regular hydrogel lenses and enable five times more oxygen to reach the eye. They also feature Hydraclear Plus technology to help stabilise the tear film of your eyes, while minimising dryness and maintaining moisture. These contact lenses help your eyes to retain moisture and also works to help reduce the symptoms of dry eyes.
How long are you supposed to wear Acuvue Oasys contacts?
Acuvue Oasys are designed to be worn daily for up to two weeks. After this point they must be disposed of. However, these lenses are also approved for extended wear. You must get permission from your eye doctor before wearing contact lenses for extended wear.
What is acuvue oasys toric
Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism are toric contact lenses that help correct astigmatism. These lenses have the same level of exceptional comfort with the added benefit of correcting this eye condition. For more information on toric contact lenses and astigmatism, please visit our Eye Care Hub.
Who makes Oasys contact lenses?
Acuvue Oasys lenses were developed by leading eye care manufacturer Johnson & Johnson. Due to the breathable nature of these lenses, they can be worn all day long without discomfort. The contact lens brand Johnson and Johnson also make a broad range of other contact lenses that might be suitable for you.
What are the different types of Acuvue Oasys contact lenses?
Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with HydraLuxe are a popular choice amongst daily contact lens wearers. These silicone hydrogel lenses offer the convenience and additional hygiene of a fresh new lens every day and have been designed to correct short-sightedness or long-sightedness. Reduce the feeling of tired eyes and lower your chance of eye infection with these daily disposables.
Acuvue Oasys, Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism and Acuvue Presbyopia are all two weekly contact lenses that deliver a healthier and convenient wearing schedule. These lenses feature Hydraclear technology. Contact lenses with Hydraclear contain wetting agents within the lens, helping to keep your eyes hydrated during wear. They can be worn as extended wear, for seven days continuously, provided you’ve sought approval from your optician. Oasys for Astigmatism are designed as toric lenses to correct astigmatism, while Oasys for Presbyopia are a multifocal contact lens option.
How to take care of your Acuvue Oasys contact lenses
You can dispose of 1-Day with HydraLuxe lenses after a full day’s wear, without requiring a cleaning routine. This particular wearing schedule caters for those who have busy and active lifestyles, providing the flexibility to wear the contacts whenever you need.
Alternatively, the two weekly lenses must be cleaned and stored in solution overnight. We recommend using our best-selling comfi All-in-One solution, for everything you need in one bottle.
