What are the differences between Acuvue 2 and Acuvue Oasys?
Acuvue 2 lenses have a higher water content at 58%, providing a more hydrating lens wearing experience. Although Acuvue Oasys has a lower water content of 39%, it does have a higher oxygen permeability than Acuvue 2, giving incredible breathability throughout wear. Acuvue Oasys is suitable for extended wear, if approved by your optician. The Oasys lens also has a more advanced UVA blocker, although it is a less advanced material as they are hydrogel lenses.
Which is better, Acuvue 2 or Acuvue Oasys?
There are a few key differences between these two weekly lenses, with pros and cons for each. Acuvue Oasys is a more modern lens and a softer material. This lens provides increased breathability and hydration through its silicone hydrogel material, ideal for those with dry eyes.
Acuvue 2 is a first generation 2 weekly contact lens by Johnson & Johnson. Although this is an older style lens, it does have a higher water content that Acuvue Oasys, making is a very hydrating and comfortable option for those with drier eyes.

What Acuvue contacts can you sleep in?
You can sleep in Acuvue Oasys for up to 6 nights and 7 days, if approved by your optician. You cannot sleep in Acuvue 2 contact lenses as they are not approved for extended wear.
